I've been waiting for this event and now it's here! I guess your wondering what ArmchairBEA is? Well to put it into my perspective ArmchairBEA is an online event for those people who won't be able to attend BEA (Book Expo America). It is probably the most awaited event for book bloggers and bibliophiles alike. I really wish I could attend this event but unfortunately we all live in the Philippines so the best way to join the fun is via ArmchairBEA. You can visit the ArmchairBEA site here to know more about the event.
First agenda for today is the Introduction post in which I answer some of the questions to get to know about the blogger behind this blog.
I'm not really good in introductions, but I guess it has to be done. So who am I? My name is Jayjay, I co-own this blog together with Marz, Era and Geianne. I mostly do the posting since the three are busy with studies, but mostly because of reading lol. How long have I been blogging? The blog just celebrated it's blogoversary last May and so to be exact I've been blogging for 1 year and 1 month now. Why did I get into blogging? This is a long story but it all started when Dea at Teen Readers Diary made me read The Hunger Games, I really love it and decided to read more books and then I found myself making a Goodreads account. Started reviewing books and eventually I proposed to Marz and Era to create this blog. Then we found Geianne along the way... and the rest is history.
2. What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2012?

I recently finished Frost by Kate Avery Ellison and it's really good, I'm part of a blog tour for this one so make sure to check it out. I'm not really sure what to read next but hopefully I'll sort it out. My favorite book this year would probably... The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. The book got me laughing and crying. It was utterly beautiful, I love it inside out.3. Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.
I love Game of Thrones lol still book related. I can't think of anything at the moment to share.
4. If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?
If I could eat dinner with an author it probably would be Amy Plum, I love her! She's is just a sweetheart. I have the strangest admiration over Paris and reading her book Die For Me made me live my dream. The description of Paris was vivid, the story is one of a kind plus it has Vincent Delacroix which probably the character i'd choose to have dinner with beside Jace Wayland of course!
5. Where do you see your blog in five years?
Looking into it, I really love what I'm doing. I love reading and reviewing books. Love doing author interviews and talking about them. In five years I think the blog would probably be self hosted and would have a decent blog design.
I hope you had fun reading my answers, feel free to ask me anything. This is a wonderful event to know more about the bloggers behind the blog. Thanks to ArmchairBEA!

I haven't gotten my hands on Amy's books yet, but everyone seems to love them. Maybe soon...
ReplyDeleteYou HAVE to read her books, I really love Paris and she described it in her books as a magical place of love <3

We Fancy Books
I haven't watched THE GAME OF THRONES. I think I'd like it if I did, but I don't have HBO. I have THE FAULT IN OUR STARS on my nightstand, but I haven't read it yet. I just haven't been in the mood lately for a cry. Also, I loved DIE FOR ME. Have fun this week at Armchair BEA.
ReplyDeleteYou have to watch Game of Thrones but I suggest it for mature audience, it has nudity and killings everywhere. The Fault in Our Stars is definitely poignant but it'll make you laugh and then cry later. Die For Me is <3

Hello! - I am not familiar with Amy's book and have never heard of the Game of Thrones.
ReplyDeleteI think it is important to be comfortable with your blog and the words and visions you share. After all, it is your space!
Game of Thrones is by George R.R. Martin and he's actually called the Tolkien of America. I have yet to read the books but the TV series is just amazing. You should read Amy's books soon.
Delete-Jay

Shadow and Bone=a must read for 2012. I taught myself through watching Youtube videos. I'd really like to take a class though to help me learn how to knit other things and learn how to fix mistakes. TFiOS is amazing and one of my favorite John Green novels.
ReplyDeleteI have heard nothing but good things about the book. I have to get a copy soon! I hope to read more of John Green's works soon.
Delete-Jay
I haven't had a chance to read The Fault in Our Stars yet, but it sounds great. I haven't seen the Game of Thrones show, but I have read the first book. I need to get cable so I don't miss it! :)

I'm halfway through season 1 of HBO's Game of Thrones -- intense. I'm not ususally one to read that type of fantasy, but I believe they're excellent books given how the series is.
ReplyDeleteThe Fault in Our Stars is still my favorite read from this year so far. Even though it made me cry.
it made me cry and its my favorite too! ;D

I feel like Goodreads it the gateway drug to book blogging lol. I want to read Frost soon. The author is in one of my goodreads groups. I hear lots of good things about The Fualt of Our Stars too. Is it sad though?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! Ya, my dad suggested blogging. He kept asking me "how's that book you're reading?" just to make conversation. But I had just moved home from college and had no one to talk about books with so when he asked I would always talk and talk about them. He probably just got bored since he isn't reading YA and had no idea who Tris and Four were lol.
We should get together to do Random Thoughts Thursdays. Sometimes I just don't know what topic to talk about so it would be nice to have a partner in crime lol.
-Melissa
Goodreads, its filled with people who writes awesome book reviews hehe. The Fault in Our Stars makes people really go emotional but the whole book is really epic you should read it :)

Everyone raves about John Green but I haven't found the time to read him yet. I need to find more time!
ReplyDeleteI have Frost coming up, it looks like it'll be a great book. Happy to hear you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI would love eating dinner with any of your choices, but I think Jace would be one I would probably end up staring at shamelessly..not eating. LOL!
Thanks for stopping by mine!
My favorite book this year is also The Fault in Our Stars!! John Green is such a fabulous writer! I am so glad that I started blogging or I probably would have missed out on his books!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a chance to read any of John Green's books, but I really need to rectify that as I'm such a Nerdfighter groupie! I cannot get enough of his and Hank's vlogs!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
I love that you mentioned blog design, that is definitely something I'm looking to improve for mine in the coming years. The Fault In Our Stars is a favourite of mine, too (of course), it's just...so much emotion thinking about that story! If you don't mind my asking, where in the Philippines do you live? My parents are both from there (dad from somewhere in Cebu, mom's side is from Manila...so broad I know, I just don't know specifics!).
ReplyDeleteHappy Armchair BEA, and lovely to meet you!
