Synopsis:
Sometimes the monster that haunted you as a child truly is real...

All it took was one phone call to bring Nicole Jones's life crumbling down around her. Now a nightmare she thought she'd left in her past is back, and he's not exactly bringing her candy and flowers. While fleeing, in a non-terrified fashion, she meets a menacing man in a dark alley. Then promptly passes out at his feet.

Gideon Evans hasn't exactly been having the best run of luck, but all that changes when a buxom little blonde collapses right in front of him. Or at least he thinks it has. It doesn’t take him long to realize that bombshell is an appropriate description for more than just her looks. Now he's facing several problems, including a surprising enemy, his own dark past, and a rather inconvenient case of lust.

Can they work together to battle the nightmare that's chasing them? Or will they succumb to the monster within?

Review

The Monster Within is a fun and quirky read. I really like the dynamics between Gideon and Nicole. Though at first I can feel that it’s purely… sexual but in the end I got convinced.

I can’t really say much about this book, well first I devoured it in a span of a few hours and second I was so busy to absorb the technicalities. Not to say that I didn't enjoy it but I was preoccupied to get to know the characters, not that there are many characters to know but I guess I was reading this with half of my mind flying. But to properly address this review, I really enjoyed it. The problem was in my part.

If you will ever read this book I warn you that it has sexually explicit scenes. If you read Adult, I guess you won’t have a problem with this one. The whole man/beast just got me a little confused. I guess I have to say that there’s nothing really new on this book. It was really short and full of sexual tension between the characters but I was looking for something new. The characters were easy to like as well as the story.

Overall this book might be short but I really love it. I recommend this to Paranormal Adult fans. It will give you some short but steamy read.

I got this book from the Tour Host for review, it has no way affected my review of the book.

About the Author

Born the only daughter of a pirate and a gypsy, Lola discovered the secret of time travel... and in doing so accidentally caused the destruction of the Roanoke Colony. When asked, her response was "Oops, my bad." She now maintains the flow of time with her hyper-intelligent Raptor side-kick (Fabian), a phone booth than can travel sideways through time, and a bracelet that transforms her into an ass-kicking costumed super hero in a yellow power suit. Writing dirty books is just a cover so no one gets to close and learns her secret.

  1. The blurb doesn't reveal much, and I'm a little bit confuse about the monster, is it an actual monster or just heroine's "inner monster". So I guess I must read the book to know it, right! ^^

  2. Hyper-intelligent Raptor side-kick? I am in desperate need of one of those.
