Based on Lauren Oliver’s bestselling book trilogy about a world where love is deemed illegal and can be eradicated with a special procedure. With 95 days to go until her scheduled treatment, Lena Holoway (Roberts) does the unthinkable: she falls in love. Usher executive produces the pilot with Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and Paula Mazur.This marks Roberts’ return to television, where she rose to fame as the teenage star of the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous. The actress, daughter of Eric Roberts and niece of Julia Roberts, had been focused on features for the past six years despite multiple pilot offers from the broadcast networks. Roberts, repped by CAA and manager David Sweeney, recently completed the New Line comedy We’re The Millers, Lionsgate’s Empire State and the indie Palo Alto Stories.
I was excited with the news of Emma Roberts playing Lena in the Fox adaptation of 'Delirium' I was actually surprised at the same time because I didn't hear any rumors saying that it was in production. I'm not a fan of Roberts but I think she'll do a great job on playing Lena, I'm now wondering who will be her love interest? I honestly want it to be Alex Pettyer but know about their history makes me cringe, it would be really awkwad in my opinion. I'm pinning for Alex though who ever will be cast is good for me, as the famous like would say 'They just want a good show' and I'm way excited for the show to premiere!
Have you read the book? If you haven't I suggest you do it immediately! The final book of the series; Requiem is slated to be released March 5th 2013!
I'm really excited to find that the series is going to be on TV. I think that Lena will be portrayed very well by Emma Roberts! Thanks for sharing. :)

I was SOOO happy with the casting of Emma Roberts. I am actually a HUGE fan of hers! as for Alex? ugh he is SUCH a diva, I would be unhappy if he got cast. But roberts is perfect as lena huh?

Oh I would definitely have to agree with Alex being "SUCH a diva", but if he can deliver the acting needed why not... right? I hope they start filming soon! :D

I'm am not a happy camper with this casting choice. Emma Roberts is a terrible actress and the absolute wrong person to portray Lena. However, I thought a TV show was a bad idea in the first place, so I'm not all that disappointed. I figure it's all downhill from here anyway. Yep, I'm a pessimist. :P
ReplyDeleteI'm the optimistic side of you though I have to agree with the TV show being a bad idea, I was actually shocked about the news. I have a keen thought that Roberts will do a good job playing the role, I guess they wouldn't invest to an actress they don't believe in the place. I'm waiting for the pilot and I hope it's soon rather than later! :)

I really like Emma Roberts. I'm not sure how this will work as a TV show,but who knows. I'm glad so many YA books are being adapted for TV and movies. Most have female leads which I think is a wonderful trend to support.

I hadn't heard that this was even picked up to be produced so when I heard that Emma Roberts was cases I was excited. I haven't read the series but I really need to. I like Emma in other movies I've seen her in so I think she'll be great in this :)

I can say the same! I was really surprised and excited on how the TV series would turn out to be... You need to read the series! Pandemonium is by far the best of the series!
